Bruera/Manzano Duo
Bruera/Manzano is a duo project in which free improvisation and original compositions merge in an atmosphere full with distortion, groove and timbral exploration.
Founded with Pier Bruera, a Madrid based drummer, percussionist and improviser, the project explores new ways of interplay between drums/percussion and guitar. Using different elementes like electronic devices, extended techniques or graphic scores.
The duo is influenced by pioneering improvisers such as Derek Bailey, Milford Graves and Han Bennik, drawing inspiration from jazz legends like Paul Motian, as well as contemporary artists such as Jim Black, Ben Monder, Joey Baron and Marc Ribot.
