Páramo
Páramo is a project born out of a series of compositions that originated from the timbral exploration on the guitar and the integration of the results with its most idiomatic elements.
There is a coexistence between improvisation and composition in the album, and, although each piece was created with a different approach, they are all narratively linked to a common imaginary that is represented in the lyrics and artwork of the album. This imaginary is a mixture of dreams, tales and the transgenerational memory of a small town.
All tracks composed by Jorge Manzano, except 1995, composed by both María Castro and Jorge Manzano.
-Cristina Rubio: voice on "Páramo".
-Jorge Manzano: electric and acoustic guitar, extended techniques, electronic devices, field recording and artwork.
-Jaby Sánchez: electric guitar and electronic devices.
-Miriam Moreno: alto sax and flute.
-Javier Moreno: bass.
-Pier Bruera: drums, percussion and extended techniques.
-María Castro: sound processing, audio programming, electronic devices, and field recording on 1995, artwork.

Páramo // 2019
El día de mi entierro se alzó
mi epitafio en marga
me enterró el pueblo al alba
en una tierra dejada
de la mano de Dios
Ocurrió en el monte del halcón
donde sopla el viento
y mece las encinas
en sus brazos, en la noche
me decía te quiero
me decía te quiero
que he recorrido mil veces
han pasado cien años
y en cien años buscando
no he visto la muerte
ni en la sima más honda
ni en el cerro más alto
los almendros florecen
en las ruinas de un pueblo
no existe la muerte
todo es eterno
no existe la muerte
todo es eterno
Mi epitafio en marga se esculpió
por si el viento me quisiera borrar
este es mi solaz, no me lloréis
en la tolvanera abandoné
mi vida terrenal
por un páramo interminable
que he recorrido mil veces
han pasado cien años
y en cien años buscando
no he visto la muerte
ni en la sima más honda
ni en el cerro más alto
los almendros florecen
en las ruinas de un pueblo
no existe la muerte
todo es eterno
no existe la muerte
todo es eterno
Mi epitafio en marga se esculpió
por si el viento me quisiera borrar
este es mi solaz, no me lloréis
en la tolvanera abandoné
mi vida terrenal
